How about that postcard? So you may have heard the
Obamas went to the Grand Canyon this weekend, but can you guess who else did? Me & Tom! We started our adventure driving up to the
Ten-X campground a few miles outside the park.

We set up camp and hung out since the canyon wasn't free Friday, we wanted to be cheap and wait till Saturday.

There's Tom looking handsome in the woods. The next day we got up early and headed to the Grand Canyon, it was so nice in the morning! We saw squirrels and a group of mule deer.

(can you see the deer? he's pretty hidden but i was really close!) We hiked the rim trail a little while, took the bus a little and then hiked some more.

We got way more exhausted than we thought and went home before sunset. But I didn't mind, it was good to get out before the crowd did! I'd love to go back sometime and hike down in (but not when it's so hot) or take a river rafting trip. I thought it was great. Better than last time, I was a little kid and terrified of falling in. I don't know how I overcame my fear of heights, but sometime in my late teens I just wasn't scared anymore. I still stayed a good one to two feet from the edge, but that's just being sensible!
