derby dames & kat's bday

kat's birthday is on monday and to celebrate we met up at the roller derby! we ended up cheering for the schoolyard scrappers (because dani, andrew's friend is on the team) but they lost :(

doesn't mean we didn't have an awesome time.

Beyond the Cel at the Mesa Arts Center

So yesterday was the opening for Beyond the Cel and Cel Mates at the Mesa Arts Center . . . we went out to eat with kat & ben before and then met up with andrew & melody there too.

i think tom was in toy/comic book/art heaven :) and matt's tree was awesome, it's like disneyland in that room.

so, i saw this picture and thought the baby in the headphones is the cutest idea ever (and practical too)!

first friday

so yesterday we went to check out first friday, but we felt a little rushed . . .

first we saw the new mike moss art at red hot robot and said hi to sara & matt,

then ran over to meet andrew & melody @ the persian garden restaurant (which no one seemed to like unfortunately) and walked around a bit.

our best find of the night? the r2d2 mailbox next to the central library!

so yesterday i got home from work and tom decided to be awesome and clean the whole house ( i helped a little . . .) and we invited some people over. for last minute invites we were pretty happy that both sarah & matt and andrew & melody could come over!

the first thing on the agenda was to come up with some new mixed drinks in response to alice's challenge on the crafting myspace group, i think we were successfull:



(just a tip, if you drink all of them in one night plus a few more you may end up shouting "Bobby Brown" like Whitney Houston all night like we did.)

then we played scene it and lost! it was a tragedy, we never lose, but matt & sarah put up a good fight :)

so last night me & tom met kat (from the craft group) & ben for happy hour at the time out lounge and then they went off to a show at the marquee while me & tom went to sauce restaurant in gilbert. they had a summer special of a pizza, salad and for $20, it was soo good, tonight i should work on my photo project, i have to shoot 2 rolls of film "looking at looking." i'm thinking about maybe something with my reflection in a window . . i don't know!

crafty sunday

so the craft meetup was again awesome, two new chicas joined us and we did a whole lot of screenprinting because i finally got the hang of it! whew.

then me & tom went and saw superbad which made me laugh at very funny, very inappropriate boys!

so after work i took my little sis to a book signing with stephenie meyer, we only saw her for like a minute, but it was fun to get a signed copy!

later we headed over to jenni's where me & tom were the reigning scene it champions, aw yea.

gotta get away

so i think i need a vacation.

in the near future i want to go to kartchner caverns in tucson because me & tom went to carlsbad caverns once and it was awesome

and then where i really want to go is on a volunteer vacation with globe aware to costa rica, i only need like $3000 for the both of us, now where do i get that . . . but look how pretty it is there! and there is a trip that starts 2 days after school ends for winter break, perfect.

back to school

so, this is my new cruiser . . . with a basket and even a strobe light (because i like to party?) so even though it's 200 degrees outside i will still enjoying biking to ASU!

so, i went to barnes and noble yesterday and they did not have this cd yet, what the heck?

i will have to look at a different store later. anyways, i DID buy a cute top and necklace from forever21 and new urban decay eyeshadow, so i found something to spend my money on, don't worry.

then we went to see stardust which i actually liked a lot :)

i'm not THAT tired

so today i started my new work schedule, working 6am-12noon. this means i got up at 5:30am and did not die! i'm amazed.

also, i got accepted to ASU, now hopefully there will be some classes still open . . . and lots of student loans available for me so i can buy rollerskates, a cruiser bike and a sewing machine. all important things for back to school ;)

sunburn city!

so . . . me & tom did NOT go out on saturday, but we had a good time being boring at home. we tried and tried to get a screen ready for my craft meetup, but were unsuccessful. but that's okay, the meetup was still great! i made a shopping bag (sewed it and everything).

Then today me & tom went tubing down the salt river because he had never been. it was very fun and relaxing, i wish i had brought a camera to take a picture of the awesome light blue dragonflies that were everywhere. now i am a bit sunburnt and going to bed :)

i want to blog!

so i decided to start a blog, just something to write about what i'm doing i guess. tonight as soon as i get off of work, me and tom are going to try to head over to the modified to check out Get Down! To Brass Tacks and Alcoholiday. we need to get out of the house! i have been so lazy the past two days. but tomorrow should be okay, i'm going to this craft meetup that a couple of us are trying to start. we're going to make grocery bags-to try and save the world from all of the plastic bag trash!
